TREATMENT TECHNOLOGIES BY PHISICAL, CHEMICAL
AND BIOLOGICAL METHODS
OBJECTIVE
Present the state of the art of technologies for water and
industrial solid-liquid-gaseous effluents treatments, giving
an overwiew of these treatments. Specially focused on
wastewaters treatments by phisical, chemical and biological
methods.

Environment engeneers and supervisors, production mangers ans supervisors, Process managers and

1. INDUSTRIAL EFFLUENTS GENERATION
Generating sources, effluent characterization,
quantification, treatment and destiny.
2. WATER AND WASTEWATER TREATMENTS
a) PHISICAL PROCESSES - Decanting, Flotation,
Coalescence, Filtration, Adsorption, Evaporation,
Distillation, Stripping, Extraction and UV treatment.
b) CHEMICAL PROCESSES - Precipitation, Coagulation
and Floculation, Eletrolysis, Ion Exchange resins, Oxidation
and Reduction, Avanced Technologies Oxidations,
Electrodeionization. Water sterilization processes for
pharmaceutical use
c) BIOLOGICAL PROCESSES - Effluents Biodegradability.
Aerobic and anaerobic treatments, Aerobic systems (
activated sludges, oxidation ditches, deep wels, loop-jets,
air-jets, ACAS, SRB, rotating discs and membranes activated
sludges, aerobic filters ). Anaerobic systems ( UASB,
Anaerobic digestors, anaerobic filters, ESBR, GESR, etc ).
Estabilization lagoons. Odor emissions reduction.
